Africa Hash 2007, Mozambique

Africa Hash 2007 will run in and around Maputo, a vibrant Latino/African city situated on the edge of the Indian Ocean in a bay fringed with palm trees, lagoons and sandy islands surrounded by wild countryside. The superb climate and friendly people make it the perfect location for partying and hashing.

The weather in Mozambique in March is perfect, the rainy season will be over and you can expect sunny days with temperatures from mid to the higher 20ºC and although a little cooler at night, no jacket is required!

Maputo has a range of modern hotels, some right on the beach, all with magnificent sea-views, as well as restaurants and bars to suit every taste and pocket. The Afro/Portuguese cuisine is unique and the prawns and seafood are World famous. Unlike many cities in the region, it is safe enough for hashers to walk/run through the rich suburbs, poor bairros and wild countryside. Maputo is remarkably easy to get around with nowhere more than 10 minutes away. Hotels and locations of Hash events will all be within easy walking distance.

The countryside surrounding Maputo is very undeveloped; open bush, sleepy fishing villages, mangroves and beaches are all within an easy bus ride from the city hotels. The Mozambican people are very friendly and the runs will take in both typical villages and the scenic beauty of the coast and countryside.

The core members of the Africa Hash 2007 Committee were responsible for organising the Kili-ma-Ramble before AH 2003 and the Africa-X-press pre-amble to AH 2005. Numbers at AH2007 are limited. There are only rooms for 400 with accommodation and another 100 without. Already over 150 have signed up. The indications are that this event will sell out within the next few months. So book early to avoid disappointment!
